Decadent Tahini Date Shake

This decadent and creamy breakfast shake tastes like dessert, but contains the perfect ratio of macronutrients: healthy fats, protein, and good carbs.
It is naturally sweetened with dates (I prefer Medjool dates) and frozen banana provides that thick and creamy texture. I love the subtle nutty tahini flavor in this shake which is a fantastic source of healthy fat.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 pitted dates
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup milk of choice (I prefer oat milk)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: handful of ice

Instructions
 

  • Soak the pitted dates in warm/hot water for at least 3 minutes so that they soften up.
  • Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until it reaches a smooth consistency. (Optional: Add any additional ingredients you prefer like protein powder, rolled oats, chia seeds, etc. Add more milk if you would like a thinner consistency.)
