Preheat oven to 375° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In the bowl of a stand mixer using the dough hook, combine 2 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon yeast, 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 cup warm milk. Let sit for 5 minutes.
Add the remaining flour (2 cups), egg, butter, salt and continue mixing on low until the dough becomes smooth and soft for 3 to 4 minutes.
Remove the dough to a lightly floured surface, form into a ball and place in a large greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let it to rest for one hour.
Remove the dough to a lightly floured surface and gently deflate, divide the dough in half. (each ball is around 490g)
Roll out dough into a round of about 12 to 13 ". Cut into 8 wedges or 16 wedges (depending on the preferred size ).
Place 2 tablespoons of the apple filling at the wide end of each wedge.
Roll up from the wide end to form a crescent shape.
Place on the baking sheet with the pointy side down and spaced out about 2" apart.
Brush the top with the melted butter.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
