M&M Golden Bars
These gooey M&M bars are the perfect combination of soft and chewy on the inside and crunchy and golden on the outside. They are a tasty treat at any time of the day to satisfy that sweet tooth – not to mention they are so fun to look at! They are the perfect snack to take on the go and a family favorite. My family absolutely LOVES these bars, and the best part is – they are SO simple to make!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups M&M's divided
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350° and grease a 9×13 baking pan.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar until creamy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the salt, baking powder, and flour. Slowly and gradually beat into the butter mixture. Stir in 1 cup of the M&M's by hand.
- Spoon into greased baking pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle the top with the remaining M&M's. Bake at 350° for 24-28 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- They will seem under baked and under done when you remove them from the oven. This is okay and exactly how you want them to look to achieve that chewy internal texture. Let them cool on the counter for at least 2-3 hours before cutting into them.
