Meatballs with Cherry Sauce

Ingredients
Cherry Sauce
- 2 cups pitted cherries
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp cinammon
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 1 cup water
Meatballs
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 lb ground meat
- 1 medium onion
- 3 tbsp chopped parsley
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
Cherry Sauce
- In a medium saucepan, combine all Cherry Sauce ingredients over medium heat.
- Stir constantly and allow the mixture to boil.
- Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until sauce thickens.
Meatballs
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a baking dish with melted butter and oil and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, add the ground meat, finely-chopped onion, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and breadcrumbs.
- Use hands to mix well and shape meat mixture into small 2-inch balls.
- Arrange meatballs in a single layer on the greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Turn meatballs occasionally until browned on all sides.
