Decadent Tahini Date Shake
This decadent and creamy breakfast shake tastes like dessert, but contains the perfect ratio of macronutrients: healthy fats, protein, and good carbs. It is naturally sweetened with dates (I prefer Medjool dates) and frozen banana provides that thick and creamy texture. I love the subtle nutty tahini flavor in this shake which is a fantastic source of healthy fat. Bon Appétit!
Ingredients
- 4 pitted dates
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup milk of choice (I prefer oat milk)
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tbsp tahini
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: handful of ice
Instructions
- Soak the pitted dates in warm/hot water for at least 3 minutes so that they soften up.
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until it reaches a smooth consistency. (Optional: Add any additional ingredients you prefer like protein powder, rolled oats, chia seeds, etc. Add more milk if you would like a thinner consistency.)
