Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 1 tbsp softened butter
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 4 tbsp sugar
Instructions
- Thaw the puff pastry sheet and make sure to work with it while it is still very cold.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle the work surface with some flour and unfold the cold puff pastry. Roll it into approximately a 10×15 inch rectangle. Cut the sides to make straight border.
- Brush the pastry with the softened butter.
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Spread this mixture evenly over the buttered pastry. Use your fingers to gently press the sugar mixture into the pastry to make sure it is stuck on well.
- Roll the long edge of the pastry tightly to the middle of the rectangle, then repeat the same process on the other side of the rectangle until both sides meet in the middle. Wet your fingers with some water and gently press both rolled sides together.
- Cut the pastry along its entire length into 1/4-inch thick slices to form the palmiers.
- Arrange the palmiers (cut side up) on the lined baking sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until crispy and golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
Notes
- The palmiers can be stored in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.
