Best Apple Cake
An easy and satisfying Fall recipe. It has all the flavors we love and crave- warm apple and a delicious spice blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. This cake is super fluffy and moist and does not need any additional toppings or frosting.Bon Appetit!
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- Pinch of salt
- 2 cups peeled and sliced apples (for the top)
- 1 cup peeled and cubed apple (for the dough)
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Ingredients for the cake top
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 275 degrees and butter a 10 inch Bundt pan and set it aside.
- In a large bowl whisk the eggs, sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and light. Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, pinch of salt, 2 tablespoons greek yogurt, oil, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Mix until just combined. Fold in 1 cup of cubed apples.
- Spoon mixture into the Bundt pan.
- In a separate bowl, combine the 2 cups of sliced apples with the brown sugar and softened butter.
- Arrange them on top of the cake and bake for 45 to 50 minutes ( Or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean) . Let it cool in the pan before transferring to your favorite serving plate.
- Dust with confectioners' sugar at serving time.
